We are actively working to create your new Riverfront Park.  In order to create a park which will be a fixture in our community for generations to come, strategic thought, detailed study and innovative design have been integrated into all phases of planning and design.

Plans for the Howard Street South Channel Bridge have been completed. The original bridge, which has completed its useful service life and was recommended for replacement, has been demolished, and work on the new bridge is on track for completion in fall 2017.

Plans for the Recreational Rink and SkyRide Facility have been completed, a contractor has been selected and construction is on track for completion just in time for ice skating season.

Designs for the Looff Carrousel Building have been completed, a contractor has been selected, and construction is on track for completion in early 2018.

The state approved of a Progressive Design-Build method on the Pavilion. It is anticipated this approach will save money and time as the designer and construction company work collaboratively from the start, instead of a designer creating drawings that a construction company then bids on. Garco Construction, NAC Architecture, Berger Partnership, and Marc Fornes/ THEVERYMANY were selected as the Design-Build team in Spring 2017. See the preliminary design concepts here.
